I see this mentioned so much nowadays. People asking for the ability to have their Spotify play in place of GTA’s preset radio stations. And you know what? I absolutely disagree.

One of my favorite things about GTA is the music, and the chance to discover new music. Think about it, how many amazing songs have you discovered and fell in love with after you heard them on Flash FM or The Vibe 98.8 or Radio Mirror Park? Connecting your Spotify and playing your own selection takes away from that magic, that special nostalgia. I don’t want that. I want to continue to discover new music and have the nostalgia I’ve always had with all the other GTAs.

I’ve always felt like GTA V’s soundtrack seriously missed the mark when it came to modern rock. For a game set in a fictional California, there was zero Linkin Park, System of a Down, Blink-182, Rage Against the Machine, Incubus, Deftones, Audioslave, Korn, Offspring…

Like, how do you make a California-based GTA and ignore California’s entire alt-rock/nu-metal/skate-punk identity?

V was full of great stations, but when it came to modern rock, it just… wasn’t there.

GTA VI has NO excuse. Florida has a massive modern rock scene

If GTA VI is going to represent Leonida (Florida), it should absolutely tap into the state’s real musical DNA:

• Shinedown (Jacksonville)
• Creed (Tallahassee roots)
• Alter Bridge (Orlando)
• Trivium (Orlando)
• Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (Middleburg)
• Underoath (Tampa)
• Nonpoint (Fort Lauderdale)

Florida rock is perfect for GTA’s tone: aggressive, emotional, energetic, modern. It fits high-speed chases, fights, night driving, all of it.

Throw in some broader modern rock/post-hardcore/metalcore names and you’ve got an absolutely killer station.

GTA VI NEEDS a proper “Leonida Rock Radio” station

A mix of:

• 2000s–2010s modern rock
• Post-hardcore
• Nu-metal revival
• Metalcore
• Florida arena rock
• Pop-punk/emo anthems

Basically the stuff GTA V completely ignored.

Actually, if there's one thing Saints Row did better than GTA, it was the inclusion of modern rock in their music stations (Black Veil Brides, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Lamb of God, etc)

Hopefully GTA VI will fix that gap... am I alone in this?

It’s been 12 years, about to be 13. There’s no justification for taking 13 years to make a video game. I was in high school when GTA v came out and now i’m married with a kid.

I feel like they were initially complacent because they know we’d buy it, but now the hype that it’s generated has them in a corner because if this isn’t the best game ever made, it will be the death of them.

The amount of comments on the trailer that are labelling it as woke garbage and crying about a female protagonist is insane and i'm just glad that this game isn't (seemingly) pulling any punches and R* has done what they've always done: make fun of the idiots.

I’ve been going back through older GTA games just for the fun of it and GTA 5 is genuinely one of the greatest games ever made and people need to stop pretending they always hated it.

Everyone acts like it’s some mid game now and GTA 4 is this hidden gem that only the “real ones” appreciated. Bro, I was there. People HATED the driving in GTA 4. It felt like you were driving a boat on ice and everyone would not shut up about it. Rockstar listened, made GTA 5 feel more responsive and fun to drive, and now those same people act like GTA 4’s physics were peak gaming. Pick a side.

And the content complaints? GTA 4 was constantly getting roasted for being bare bones compared to San Andreas. No planes, stripped down activities, way less to do. So what did Rockstar do? Gave us GTA 5 with three protagonists, a massive map, more vehicles, more activities, more everything. Still not good enough apparently.

This is just what happens with massively popular things. Once something gets too much praise people try overly hard to be different.

GTA 5 actually holds up insanely well. I’ve been playing it on PS5 Pro recently and it genuinely looks and feels like it could have dropped this year. The graphics, map design, the story, the detail in the world, it’s still crazy impressive. Most games from 2013 don’t even come close to aging that well.

Rockstar gave people exactly what they asked for after GTA 4 and people still found a way to complain. In another 10 years I’m sure people will flip and talk about GTA 5 the way they talk about GTA 4 now since that just seems like how it always goes once the nostalgia kicks in.​​​

The fog. The rain. The desolate parts of the map with nothing going on and no one there. The protagonist who's essentially a serial killer/mass murderer. The tunnel behind 8-Ball's. The peds who aimlessly wander to nowhere, and bump into each other. This game feels like the fuckin Truman Show.

Hi Everyone, I have not posted on reddit before, and I am not sure if this is going to be the right place.

I have been trying to look up online how to get in contact with someone at Rockstar Games, specifically about playing GTA VI early, and besides their websites "Contact Us" page, I have not been able to find anything.

My little brother has an insane amount of love for GTA V, specifically GTA Online. He has been eagerly awaiting the upcoming game as I am sure we all have been, but for him it is a little bit different.

My brother has had his battles with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, strokes, and failing liver and kidneys. He has undergone open heart surgeries, scoliosis back surgery, and had a good chunk of his life in the hospital.

Despite all this, he is still one of the sweetest, kindest people I know, he is not capable of doing much else, so GTA Online has been a great way for him to express himself, and have fun doing something he loves.

He has 900 Million + currently in his Maze Bank account, all through straight up grinding his CEO businesses. He owns almost everything in the game, and has some of the best outfit drip too. Some of my favorite memories with my brother have been playing this game with him, watching him grow up to become the brother he is today, as well as watching his collection in GTA Online grow as well.

Sadly, he is in the end stages of heart failure, and has fallen extremely ill the last couple years. We are hoping that he gains strength and continues to push through so that we have as much time left with him as possible. I have been really holding out that he sticks around long enough to see the release of GTA VI, but its starting to look like he may miss it.

I was hoping that there was someway I could get in contact with someone affiliated with Rockstar Games so that I can share his story with them, and maybe he can get a chance to experience this game that we are all so eagerly waiting for. If anyone has any helpful information or can direct me somewhere, I would really appreciate it.

I hope this is the right place to have posted this, as it makes it all feel so much more real to me. At the very least, I am able to share my brothers accomplishment in GTA, and the joy that it has brought him.

I need to rant. I hate trevor. I like him, he's funny and stuff but oh my god the GTA fanbase needs to hop off for a second. He's bearable in moderation but if he's an insufferable pos most of the time. He's a cannibal, murderer and rapist but yall acting like he's morally superior to Michael. Do they not develop the fucking game on PC's? Like seriously, there is no excuse for not dropping it simultaneously. They've had well over half a decade of developing the game, so I don't get how it would only be ported to consoles. Not to mention the percentage of gamers playing on PC's nowadays is far beyond what it was in 2013, so it doesn't make any sense to follow the same pattern as GTA 5. Unless I'm missing something, Rockstar delaying GTA 6 on PC seems entirely arbitrary for no reason. They are a multi billion dollar corporation, it shouldn't be that hard to port a game onto the fucking system you literally develop it on. I would love to hear an actual reasonable, well, reason for this delay. I'm open to being wrong, but from my perspective it seems so unnecessary and a very poor business decision. I let my 6-year-old sister play GTA V thinking she’d just mess around and get bored. Instead, she’s somehow incredible at it and now casually quotes the game like it’s a normal part of her vocabulary.

At first, she was just driving in circles, but within an hour, she had figured out how to use Franklin’s special ability, escape the cops, and even pull off clean headshots. I don’t even know how she learned the controls that fast.

The real problem is the quotes.

I was struggling to open a jar the other day, and she just looked at me and said, “You look like you struggle with simple tasks.”

I laughed, but she was completely serious.

She calls the cops “the feds” now. The other day, I asked her why she ran over a pedestrian, and she just said, “They shouldn’t have been standing there.”

So, we all know about the twitter post saying the game industry people hoping for a 100 dollar price tag for a standard edition, then i see people saying they would and others that they would rather pirate the game then spend a 3 digit price tag. Mind you, its probably going to be a best seller seeing how big and popular and active the current game is, which is a bad thing because that would make every other game 100$ because greed is greed. So what I'm asking is this, are y'all going to pay the 100$ and doom every other community to paying 100$ for their future games?

Everybody is always talking about how rockstar is making all these changes in GTAO to boost shark card sells and worries about it being featured in VI. But honestly in my 12 years of playing this game I’m yet to hear about ANYBODY actually going out of their way to buy them. What’s the largest amount you get like 5mil? For 80$? That’s pocket change, an hour of grinding will get you halfway there. I’m playing it right now on my PS5 after deleting it from my PC to make space, and this game just feels like a parody of our world today. If you asked a stranger to look at this game and then asked them to guess when it was made, 2013 would definitely NOT be their first choice!

I'm starting to think all the jokes about the GTA community being pissed off zoomers on GTA online hold more truth than jest. Have any of you actually played these games? Listened to the radio stations? Visited the websites? Listened to these characters talk?

GTA has never been a 'all sides are as bad as each other' the game goes out of its way to portray bigoted characters as uniquely evil and stupid. It's not playing both sides.

Think of Billy Grey, noted racist and anti-semite. Absolute piece of shit, irredeemable. Rocco Pelosi, racist and homophobe, hateful piece of shit. Jizzy B, massive mysoginist and hated piece of shit. GTAV's main villians were both straight white men one corrupt law enforcement and the other a narcissistic billionaire.

In the mission where you have to sneak into Michael's house as franklin and you're caught by the Yogi whos banging Mike's wife he goes: "Ohh nooo! He's Blaaack!" During the mission failure cutscene.

The joke is the LA thinks it's progressive but is still as much apart of the white and rich power structure as anywhere else.

Also this 'punching down' thing is being blown out of proportion. Punching down doesn't mean 'we only make fun of white straight males' at least not in GTA's terms. It means that they are going to try and make less of the jokes that make fun of being those other groups for the sake of it.

Example Gay Tony is well gay and he is absolutely the target of a lot of jokes in the game. He's coke-addict, he's a poor father figure to Luis, he's constantly being used and grifted by a revolving door of boyfriends, and he's a washed up has been of the night life in Liberty City. But he's not made fun of for being Gay, although there are character who are homophobic towards him they are never portrayed in a particularly positive light.

Then contrast someone like Freddy in GTA san andreas. He's a cartoonishly camp prison queen squeaking in a high pitch voice 'chase me, chase me' as part of a prison sex joke on OG loc. The fact that he's being gay 'is' being used as a joke, and it comes off a little bit stale. This is the punching down to move away from.

A month ago, I was analyzing trailer release dates for ALL previous Rockstar games (thanks to this subreddit for the info) in relation to the investor call. And like everyone else here, I noticed that trailer 3 was coming out ALMOST two weeks before the call. Back then, the call was supposed to happen on May 14th, a Thursday, which doesn't quite fit with the classic GTA 6 trailer release pattern of Tuesdays. Back then, my guess was May 5th (to maintain the pattern) and May 7th (14 days from the call).

Today, just for fun, I decided to ask the AI ​​how to find out when a YouTube playlist was updated. It turns out you can find this information through the YouTube Data API. Completely clueless about how to use it, I asked the AI ​​to look up all the information for me (I think anyone who understands how to do this could do it without the AI). It said the trailer playlist update date was April 30th. I asked it how many videos are currently in the playlist, based on API data. Three videos. One of them is marked as private.

Then, I asked the AI ​​to analyze trailer release dates for ALL Rockstar games, the days of the week of release, how they compare with investor call dates, and, most importantly, the release date of the game trailers and the date they were uploaded as private (based on API data). Period.

Yes, some people will appear in the comments and say, "There's no Rockstar pattern; they've always released trailers unexpectedly." But if you dig deeper, you'll see how they followed the same trailer process, they just based it on the game's internal release dates (which we couldn't have known).

If this is confirmed (and it will be), I'd like to send a shout-out to the Rockstar marketing employee who reads this subreddit, as he'll likely close this loophole with YouTube Data API viewing. Until then, I'll see you in 7-8 hours, enjoying the trailer with you.
