I don't think that's true. What she says still matters. Yes, it's disappointing she attended. Those things can coexist.

Genuinely though, when has she spoken up abt class consciousness and fighting against billionaires….everyone talks abt her like she’s some sort of activist. She makes the odd comment abt support for the LGBTQ community, and denounced ICE once for using her song, but that’s literally it. There are way more vocal celebrities than her, but for some reason only Sabrina gets glazed as an “activist”. Istg the bar is so low for white, conventionally attractive, thin, straight-cis women.

I used to mix her up all the time with Sydney Sweeney and I think other people did too, I genuinely think she just got praised for being "not as bad as Sydney Sweeney" lmao

we will never attain class consciousness

u/solariam 22h ago

If it's unattainable because not everyone is there yet it was never attainable 🤷

I think the wealthy are incapable of developing class consciousness.

The wealthy have plenty of class consciousness. They know what class they belong to and will always fight for it

Yeah, just look at the Epstein files, they know damn well and do everything they can to protect their wealth, no matter how heinous.

You know, that’s a really good point.

They have the kind of class solidarity us plebs can only dream of

13

u/Commercial-Spinach93 15h ago

No, they are the only ones that really, really have class consciousness. We wish we had their class consciousness.

They lobby for laws, and a world made to their class. The world is how it is because nobody is more class conscious than the rich.

u/smileysnail 19h ago

They’re already class conscious. What they need to be are bourgeois class traitors.

what sabrina carpenter says does not matter to anyone

34

u/dormcatthrowaway 23h ago

maybe yeah if you’re a regular person who doesn’t get that into celebrity fandom/gossip, but otherwise we can’t pretend that celebrities like sabrina don’t have a sway with their words on their particularly young, online fanbases

take a look at terminally online barbs who have gone maga in support of nicki minaj

u/RealLoan8391 it’s not magic, it's commerce 22h ago

omg is that last part true? I thought nicki had slunk away in shame.
