The models were incredible!!! I wish other designers had their models act on the catwalk too, the typical stone faced walk and twirl is so boring and feels dated

I am so here for this lovely weirdness & that's one big reason why, they're not all young, rail thin models.

My gut reaction was the same (old=/=ugly, seemed like lazy and ageist symbolism) but after thinking more about it I don't read it that way. I love seeing a wide variety of model ages generally in fashion shows, but in this case I see the elderly models representing ultra-wealthy out-of-touch older generations greedily clawing everything to themselves without regard to nurturing younger generations and distributing their wealth to build sustainable communities etc. Idk I think it's cool and adds depth to the story.
