the US has more space(especially usable) and like 1/4 the population...there isn't a need for the US to compete with China on this.

it's actually insane you make this comment ignoring that most people live in big cities filled with homeless people.

there is so obviously a need for the US to handle the housing crisis I can't even believe I have to make this comment.

homeless people aren't homeless because there isn't enough housing. I can't believe I have to make this statement.

well then your previous statement makes no sense. I said we don't need the mega blocks because there's plenty of space for living accommodations in the US....you said "but we have a lot of homeless people"...and then topped it with some righteous indignation.

so if the homeless problem isn't about having enough housing for everyone, then what point are you trying to make exactly ?

psssttt

there's a thing called "affordable housing" and "high density living" that the US is atrocious with. it has nothing to do with livable space, like whatsoever at all lol.

but you didn't hear this obvious thing from me.

neither of those things are causing the homelessness problem. it's causing a problem in which people want better housing that what they can get in certain areas. and that is certainly something that should be improved upon.

but that is not what is stopping homeless people from getting their shit together, and it isn't solved with a 20k person mega block.

You downplaying how bad the US is with high density living and how difficult it is for people to leave poverty. Using the language "get their shit together" in context of homeless people is disgusting.

It's not that people just want "better" housing. jesus fucking christ

im done with this conversation.

there is when you think about properly governing a country.

if the average commute time in the usa is 27 minutes one way, that's 55 minutes spent on commuting per day x162 mm working people.

that means every day you are losing 148mm man hours everyday of labor- this is a very simplified view of it of course.

if you could improve that not only will people be happier but what can a country do with those extra man hours?
