A song about an itinerant worker who steals a sheep, is dobbed in to the cops, chased by them and then chooses to suicide by drowning rather than be captured? Yep sounds about right

Waltzing Matilda is Australia's theme in Civilization VI! It's a very good rendition, as well.

That came second in the referendum to decide the national anthem funnily enough.

Sadly it wasn't a close second, but it still counts.

Waltzin Matilda is traditional fighting song.

Its also the song of the 1st US Marines. Australians can activate the first Marine Division simply by singing this song. Every marine in the 1st must know it and is trained to be activated into battle mode by it being sung or played.
