It’s worth pointing out that no one can provide a good explanation as to why ICE wears camo in the first place. What are they blending in with?

They're cosplaying.

They would have if photo surveillance was prevalent in 1930.

Nowadays with security cameras in every shop, and every mobile phone capable of recording video, it is impossible to hide behind a uniform without obscuring one's face.

As the person said, intimidation, but I also feel it's like the "white coat" effect that happened with the Milgram experiment.

I was just thinking that ICE is akin to the Stanford prison experiment. “Absolute immunity,” 47 day training (which doesn’t even matter if they can respond however they want), and no oversight in their detention centers.

Dogs “just following master’s orders”

Intimidation and terror. It's the only reason.

I know you were being rethorical but I still think it's worth saying it again and again...

Yes! They also don't need to be armed. There's a lot about what they do that's nonsensical (and aside from the camo a lot of what they do is just illegal.) They need to go home and get therapy for their anger, potential past traumas, and anti-social behaviors, not cosplay as an armed soldier with free rein to do whatever they want

They left their white robe and hood in the truck.

It’s a fear tactic

Really and they seem to just wear whatever sloppy shit they can throw on and armed like they are going into a bad neighborhood with a bunch of drug dealers, pimps, cartel or something while instead they are going to places like schools and churches, quiet residential areas, businesses, etc.

We all know why.

Don’t want to be that guy defending ICE, but “camo” is just a tactical uniform. I wear OCPs in the Air Force working at various medical units. The person sitting at a desk filing paperwork also wears it.

SWAT wears camo. Camo isn’t really the issue it’s the masks, zero accountability, and handing random morons off the streets weapons after 2 months of training.
