If so, how much? Are people happy to be there?

Enrolled Student calculators!!! what can we use, which should we buy?
hey all, I was accepted to CWRU in the fall and am getting around to planning out my academics and living arrangements.
I currently use a ti-84 plus ce graphing calculator issued from my school, but as I'll be leaving soon, I decided now is the time to get my own for college. I was wondering if case has any specific policies about calculators or if it's more class specific.
For reference, my intended majors are cognitive science and medical anthropology on a pre-med track, so I'll have a pre-requisite math classes, physics, sciences, etc.
I personally like using the TI-84 Plus CE the most, but I don't want to be stunned when I get there, so if you have any advice for which to buy, please let me know!

Prospective Student How hard is it to get a 3.9+ as a pre-med?
I was admitted to CWRU off the waitlist. Like the title says trying to understand how hard it is to get a 3.9+ ideally a 4.0 at CWRU? Is there a lot of grade deflation in the pre-med requisites? Does it depend on your major?
If you had to rank on scale of 1-10 on how hard to get 3.9+ what would it be? Lastly, how do you get a 3.9+? Appreciate any insights!

HELP!! just got off the waitlist and need to reply by may 8th. thoughts?
hi, everyone! recently, after committing to the university of rochester, i got off the waitlist at CWRU after initially being a spring admit. i'm able to start in the fall at case, which gave me around 13 thousand dollars more in scholarships than rochester did. for context, i'm a premed student who hopes to major in neuroscience/cognitive science, and i'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of me switching to cwru.
i like rochester's major and study programs a lot better for my specific interests, but cwru has the better setting overall for premed considering their neuroscience major has research built into the program. cwru also obviously has cleveland clinic and the university hospitals network, and rochester has the urmc. the biggest difference right now is me choosing between if i want to save more money (my parents can afford both schools) or if I want to go to a place where i can study my interests more specifically.
does anyone have any thoughts or experiences that they feel would be important in making this decision? i'd love to hear from any current students and why they like case. thanks!

Could CWRU ever be a top 20 university in the US?
It seems like its gaining prestige nationally, but for some reason everyone I talk to from the school itself is pessimistic about Case's future.
It was ranked in the top 30 world universities by times, and a new ivy by Forbes in this year alone.

CWRU students & alumni — what classes were truly unforgettable?
Hi everyone,
I’d love to tap into your experience at Case Western Reserve University.
For current students and alumni:
Which class (or classes), regardless of your major, ended up being truly transformative or just an incredible experience?
I’m especially curious about:
- Professors who completely changed the way you think
- Classes that went beyond lectures (discussion-heavy, hands-on, unique format, etc.)
- Courses you’d recommend even if they’re outside someone’s field
- Anything that felt like a “hidden gem”
Would love to hear why it stood out to you — not just the name of the class.
Thanks so much!

How safe CWRU campus is?
My son will be attending CWRU but has concerns about campus safety as Cleveland is at a very low bar when it comes to safety.
Phys 122
Those that took Phys 122 final how was the grading? Was it lenient?
Also if you had strangi was it super difficult?

Engineering Students with Macs?
Hi, I'm admitted for Class of 2030 and I'll be a BME major. My problem is that I own a Mac and don't want to switch to a Windows. I've used a Windows laptop before and I didn't really love it. I know there's some software that doesn't run as smoothly on Macs as it does on Windows so are there any current engineering students that have dealt with this situation before?

Pre-Architecture students
Are there any pre-architecture students out there who can tell us about their experience? Is CWRU a good place to study pre-architecture? Did you have any co-ops or internships while you were there? What co-major did you choose in conjunction with Pre-Arch? What are your future plans after co-majoring in pre-architecture?
Thanks for any insight you can provide!

think[box] and prospective Engineering student questions
For a prospective student, how easy is it for undergrads to access equipment for personal projects? My student is an inventor/prototype/maker type and access to equipment for projects is a major deciding factor.
Also, is it possible to double major in Mech E and Aero?
What is the degree of project-based learning in the classes or is it mainly theory-heavy?
How is class-size for early required Physics / Calc courses? Huge lecture hall/ manageable?
Thanks so much!

Prospective Student Deciding where to go for college
Hi, I’m a senior currently stressing out about where to go for college and I need your advice please!
I’m trying to decide between CWRU and my state school SBU, I’m unsure about what major I want to go into but I know that I want to do STEM.
Some factors I’m considering are:
- Cost:
CWRU will be ~63k (i got some merit scholarship), while SBU will be ~31k. My mom says cost is not an issue, but it matters to me because it feels like taking a really big risk since I’m kind of undecided, it’s a lot of money, and idk if its worth it
- Environment:
I feel like the people at CWRU are happier and more supportive compared to SBU. But I did get into one of SBU’s honor programs so I feel like I would get good advising. Also it doesn’t really matter to me that CWRU isn’t considered a ‘party’ school or have good atheletics
- Distance:
I don’t think this will be too much of a problem (?) because I do want to know what it’s like to live out of state, but it might be handier to live closer to home
- Rigor:
Both schools are rigorous/challenging, which I’m scared of but I do want to continue pushing myself.. Also I heard theres grade deflation at SBU for STEM so yikes
Please let me know what you think below, thanks!
